One of the key support acts on the Randwick Guineas Day program, the $300,000 Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) has attracted 13 early entries.
Nominations for the two-years-old filliesâ set weights sprint are extended until 11am (AEDT) on Tuesday.
Formerly known as the Reisling Slipper Trial, the event is a traditional lead-up to the lucrative $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 19 and offers a ballot exemption into that race to the winning filly.
The last filly to win the Golden Slipper off a Reisling Stakes run last time out was Mossfun (2nd) in 2014.
Of the 2016 Golden Slipper Stakes-bound fillies entered for the Reisling this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, the shortest priced in the futures markets for the Group 1 through Ladbrokes.com.au is Honesty Prevails.
The Rick Worthington-trained daughter of Redouteâs Choice is currently paying $13 in all-in Golden Slipper odds to win after her two and a quarter length win on debut in Rosehillâs Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) in late January.
Calliope at $26 is the next best fancied hope for the Golden Slipper, the John OâShea-trained Exceed And Excel filly also a black-type winner.
She took out the Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) on debut in the spring before returning to run fifth behind Samara Dancer in the Group 2 Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude (1100m) in Melbourne three weeks back.
Another smart filly with form around some nice types over her four runs to date is the Matthew Smith-trained daughter of Not A Single Doubt Faraway Town.
She finished second to boom filly Yankee Rose on debut last October before a Rosehill win in the wet next start.
Her latest run was at the Gold Coast in early January when sixth to current second-favourite in Golden Slipper betting Capitalist in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m).
Smith also has Rebel Miss entered for the race after the Krupt filly won over 1000m at Kembla Grange on debut on February 13.
David Payne has entered his last start Canterbury winner French Fern who is up in stakes class for the first time if accepted, while the Brisbane-trained Zeladyâs Night Out is out to bounce back.
The Tony Gollan-trained Myboycharlie filly won her opening three career starts including the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Boxing Day before a last start ninth in the Magic Millions Classic.
Other notable hopes include the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Quick Feet and Sparkle for Gai Waterhouse.
